Tokens and subscriptions comparison

NFER Online Assessments are available to purchase either as individual tokens or one-year subscriptions, enabling you to decide which option best aligns with the assessment strategy for your organisation.

The table below outlines the features of both tokens and subscriptions options and who they are suitable for.

Tokens

Subscriptions

What does a token or subscription cover?

One token covers one assessment (e.g. all three maths tests: arithmetic, mathematical reasoning papers 1 and 2), per pupil, subject, year, and term e.g. maths, year 3, autumn.

A subscription covers assessments across all three terms: autumn, spring, and summer for a selected year group and subject e.g. a year 3 reading subscription covers autumn, spring, and summer assessments.

How long is a token or subscription valid for?

Each token is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Each subscription is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Which option is best for me?

Schools who want to try out the assessments for the first time or use it on a term-by-term basis or with a small group of pupils.*

*We recommend schools with 27 or fewer pupils in their total year group consider tokens as the most cost-effective option.

Schools who want to use the assessments across all three terms in one or more classes.
