Curriculum area - summary report

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 2:58 PM

For the demo account, the assessments are for example only and have not been trialled and standardised. All standardisation data provided is mocked up and for illustrative purposes only.

The Curriculum area – summary report displays the averages for the learner selection for each curriculum area. For a breakdown of the curriculum for each subject see Curriculum areas and codes – reading, and Curriculum areas and codes – maths.

After selecting the report from the report screen, there will be a prompt to select an assessment, if not already chosen. (see Select assessment or learner name) The report data will then display for all the learners in the selection for whom marking is complete.

In the example below, Year 4 Summer Maths has been selected for Year 4 Lions. The top right of the report displays the number of learners in the selection. The key in this report is used to compare the learner selections’ performance against the national average of the standardisation sample.

  • Select ‘View learners’ to open the Curriculum area – all learners report showing individual learner detail.

The table shows all the curriculum areas and the average scores for all the learners in the selection for whom marking is complete, alongside the marks available from all the questions assessing each area. The differences with the standardisation sample are highlighted in colours according to the key.

In the example below, the learner selection is performing well overall in ‘Number,’ in line with the national average for ‘Addition and subtraction’ but below average in ‘Multiplication and division.’

This report can be useful for identifying the overall strengths and weaknesses for a group of learners in comparison with the standardisation sample. It should be noted that the highlighted colour shows how the average of the learner selection’s performance differs from the average of the standardisation sample, and individuals within the group may have performed differently.

If there is only 1 mark available for assessing a curriculum area, there will not be a colour highlight since this is insufficient to provide a valid difference from the standardisation sample.
