The Select report screen, accessed from the Reports button on the NOA menu, shows the reports available for analysing how learners have performed in their
assessments.
Each report provides a range of information to help give meaning to the learner test scores. The two Question level reports can be viewed prior to completion of marking and report at test level. The remainder of the reports can be viewed when a minimum of one learner in the learner selection has been fully marked for an assessment (i.e. three maths tests or two reading tests) and it will be clear how many learners are making up the data displaying in the report.
What reports are available?
Each report is listed below with a summary of the information provided within the report.
The report headings are links which will take you to further information to explain the report and how to use it. This is best used when viewed alongside the report.
This report gives an analysis of a learner’s performance in an assessment, including a raw score, a standardised score, and the marks they achieved within each curriculum area. It compares their scores to the national average of the standardisation sample. It provides a straightforward way to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each learner for the curriculum areas assessed. It can help a teacher to target interventions and support appropriately.
This report provides the average standardised score for a learner selection in comparison to the standardisation sample and for each learner it displays the raw score for each test and the whole assessment, and their standardised score. The standardised scores are highlighted to indicate if each learner is working well above, above, in line with, below or well below the national average of the standardisation sample.
This report provides an average score by curriculum area for a learner selection and a comparison with the standardisation sample for an assessment. It is a straightforward way to identify the overall strengths and weaknesses for a group across the key curriculum areas covered in the assessment and helps identify areas to focus teaching.
This report gives the marks achieved for each curriculum area for each learner in the selection for an assessment. The achieved marks are highlighted to clearly show if the learner is well above, above, in line with, below or well below the national average of the standardisation sample. It enables teachers to see strengths and weaknesses across curriculum areas and then identify learners that may need more support in an area or who are doing well. It also has a summary table to include information from the Curriculum area – summary report to display the data for the average of the learner selection.
This report has a ‘View’ button for of all the questions within one test (e.g. Test 1 Arithmetic, Test 2 Reading) to display the question image with an example of a creditworthy response. For each question, the average learner score for the selected group is compared against the average score of the standardisation sample and highlighted to show if the learners in the selected group are performing well above, above, in line with, below or well below that of the sample. This report is useful to target specific areas of the curriculum or question types a group may be struggling with.
This report gives a detailed breakdown of question performance for all the learners in the selected group for one test. It shows if the learner achieved all marks on a question, partial marks, no marks or omitted the question and the View buttons show images of each question with an example of a creditworthy response. A summary table shows the average marks by the learner selection and the average marks achieved by the standardisation sample. Colour highlights enable quick visualisation of learner performance.
For the demo account, the assessments are for example only and have not been trialled and standardised. All standardisation data provided is mocked up and for illustrative purposes only.
