  • After selecting the report from the report screen in NOA, there will be a prompt to select a year group and subject.

  • The report data will then display for all the learners in the selection for whom marking is complete.

In the example below, a Year 4 group of 60 learners are selected for the Year 4 Maths assessment. The learners in this group have completed assessments for all three terms in the academic year.

  • The key in this report is used to compare each individual learners’ performance against the national average of the standardisation sample in the main table.
  • There are buttons to change assessment and filter by pupil characteristics.

The summary table provides an average standardised score for the number of learners shown below. These are learners for whom the assessment is completed and marked.

  • An asterisk by the number indicates if there are still learners for which marking is outstanding – in this example for the Y4 Summer Maths assessment.
  • The averages are not highlighted in the summary table; the key only applies to the individual learner scores in the main table.

  • In the main table all the learners in the selection are listed alphabetically. Their standardised scores, highlighted as indicated in the key, are given for each assessment completed and marked for each term of the selected academic year.
  • The table allows the learners’ performance to be tracked across an academic year to see if they are maintaining progress, improving or declining.

In the example below, Yasmin Farrah was working above average for both the Autumn and Spring Maths assessments and well above average for her Summer Maths assessment, showing an improvement.

Tracy Hall has a blank cell for Y4 Summer Maths. The asterisk in the summary table showed there was outstanding marking for these assessments, and therefore the blank cell here indicates Tracy’s assessment for summer still has teacher marking outstanding.
