Follow the instructions in How to access teacher marking and verification which will lead to the Score question screen. From here the selected questions can either be teacher marked or verified depending on the question. See Teacher scoring or verifying questions.
The Score question screen shows the response for one learner at a time and only for learners that have completed the question. If learners have omitted the question, they are automatically scored 0 and do not show in teacher marking.
The learner selection and test display at the top left of the screen, with the number of learners who have completed the test out of the total in the learner selection on the top right.
The learners display in alphabetical order for the selected test. The learner's name displays in a drop-down box. From this another learner in the selection can be chosen if desired.
On the screen for the first learner the top left button is Question selection. This button leads back to the Question selection screen to choose a different question to mark or verify.
The Summary and Next button display on each screen for every learner.
- The Summary button opens a screen which shows marking progress on the selected question (see Viewing the marking summary)
- The Next button moves to the next unscored learner in the selection
- The question number is shown below the Next button
- For the next learner and all following learners, there is a Previous button in place of the Question selection button to enable navigation to the previous learner
- After the final learner response is scored the Next button will open the Summary screen.
In the centre of the screen is the question with learner response on the left, and Mark scheme on the right.
Below the Mark scheme is the area for scoring or verifying the responses.
- For the teacher marked questions these will show as ‘Not scored’ until the teacher has selected a mark
- For the verify questions, a mark will already be given, but this can be changed if required. See Teacher scoring or verifying questions.
If scoring the reading assessments, the reading text is also provided below the question and learner response for reference.
At the bottom of the screen the Question selection or Previous button, and the Next button are repeated for ease of navigation after scrolling down the screen.
