Impact of marking on report data

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 2:33 PM

For the demo account, the assessments are for example only and have not been trialled and standardised. All standardisation data provided is mocked up and for illustrative purposes only.

The data displayed in the reports depends on whether a teacher has started marking the questions which require teacher marking (see Teacher Marking for more information)

All the reports, except for the two Question level reports, require at least one learner’s assessment to be fully marked before data will display. If these reports are selected before the marking of one learner is complete, the following message will show:

The two Question level reports are based on the analysis of a single test and the autoscored question data will be available as soon as the learners have taken the test.  Please note, there can be a small lag between a learner completing the test and being able to view the report. If the report does not display immediately, please wait a couple of minutes, and retry. As the teacher marks the remaining questions, the data will automatically be added into the reports.

If marking is outstanding when a report opens, a warning box will display:

In the example below, the average scores for the learner selection are for the 25 learners for whom marking is complete (circled in the image). The data displayed will continually update as the remaining learners take the test and teacher marking is carried out. This may change the colour highlights in the ‘difference’ column (e.g., in line, above, below) showing how the group is performing against the standardisation sample for the curriculum area.

The image below is from the Curriculum area – all learners report. The summary table shows that the average for the learner selection is made up of data for only 25 out of the 30 learners. Marking is only complete for 25 learners. The averages and their categorisation may change when all marking is complete.

In the main data table for the same report, rows appear blank for learners that have taken the assessment but for whom marking is not complete.

The data in this table will not change for other learners as marking for the learner selection is completed. Data only displays for each learner once their marking is complete.

The two Question level reports display data for all auto-marked questions as soon as a learner has finished the test. In the Question level – all learner report, any questions which have not been teacher marked will show as blank cells in the table – as shown for question 7 below.

In the Question level – summary report, if a teacher marked question has not yet been marked at all, there will be a blank row of data for the learner selection. The ‘No. of learners’ column shows the number of learners in a selection for which the data includes. In this example, 28 learners took the test. Question 2 only includes data for 25 learners. Data in this row should be viewed with caution, as it will change when teacher marking is completed for the remaining learners.
